Since then Tyson has gone bankrupt in 2003, losing his $400 million fortune, been involved in several drug-related run-ins with the law, and got in trouble for comments he made in the media about Sarah Palin. Despite all this, Tyson has managed to build back his brand and is now worth around an estimated $10 million, mainly thanks to his cannabis company Tyson 2.0. He’s also helped soften the media and public’s perception of him by exposing his flaws in interviews, appearing in movies, such as The Hangover, and revealing more about himself on his podcast, Hot Boxin’.
“I want to fight all the best fighters of this era,” he said . “I want to fight everyone, starting with guys like (Martin) Bakole or (Joe) Joyce, or Frank Sanchez, and then Joshua, Wilder, Usyk. I want to fight them all, of course.
As if Zhilei Zhang wasn’t already intimidating—as if being 6′ 6″ with Thanos-like fists didn’t make your knees rattle, as if back-to-back knockout wins last year over granite-chinned Brit Joe Joyce weren’t enough—on this particular mid-November afternoon, inside a nondescript gun range in northern New Jersey, Zhang has his fingers wrapped around a Sig Sauer P365 XL. Guns, Zhang insists, were never his thing. His trainer, Shaun George, introduced him to recreational shooting a few years ago; Kurt Li, his co-manager, translator and, it turned out, part-time range safety officer, showed him the ropes. The first time he pulled a trigger, his hands trembled.
Two years later, Stu really has become uptight and selfish about his wedding in Thailand and how the bachelor party is going, as he and the guys are going to Thailand, but Stu didn’t want to invite Alan, but Doug talks him into it. Stu tells the guys at an iHop that he is going to have a bachelor brunch, with just chocolate chip pancakes, lap dance from the waitress and no alcohol. Stu really becomes happy with Lauren. He didn’t even want to go with the guys down to the beach to get a beer, but he decided a little fun couldn’t hurt. While drunk, Stu got a tattoo (which was a copy of Mike Tyson’s), he yelled and cried like a baby while he got it, and later had anal sex with a transsexual stripper named Kimmy. He wouldn’t leave Bangkok until he found his brother-in-law, Teddy. He finds him in time for his wedding. Stu shows Lauren’s father that he may sometimes be an uptight nerd or coward, but he has a demon in him which reveals itself in his drunken state. Stu then got married to Lauren.
The news conference was jovial, with neither man a master of trash talk – but there was enough spite between the two teams. Zhang’s trainer Shaun George promised another stoppage. Joyce’s manager, Adam Morallee, was in equally confident mood his man will be victorious.
“For my last fight, 60 million people in China tuned in to watch that, I believe we’ll make more history this time, I’m expecting 100 million, I have 1.4billion people behind me and supporting me, let’s make it happen. I’m fighting for my country.”
Similar to his tattoo of Mao, Tyson’s ink of Che Guevara on his ribcage represents his admiration for revolutionaries. Guevara, an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, was a major figure in the Cuban Revolution and is globally recognised as a symbol of rebellion against inequality. For Tyson, this tattoo is a personal emblem of fighting against life’s challenges and standing up for one’s beliefs.
Tyson will likely earn a substantial purse from the Jake Paul fight on Netflix. The streaming giants generated a revenue of $33.7 billion in 2023 alone, which is a 6.6% increase compared to 2022. So, them forking out an eight-figure sum to Tyson shouldn’t be a problem. During his heyday, Tyson made paydays of $100+ million for some of his biggest fights.
Boxing has become increasingly popular in China in recent years, with several Chinese boxers, especially women, making their mark on the international stage. But while boxing still remains a niche sport for many Chinese, mixed martial arts has managed to break through the public consciousness, with Zhang Weili, the first Chinese UFC world champion, and other fighters increasingly commanding a mainstream following.
On a budget of $80 million, principal photography began on October 8 division world champion boxing, 2010, in Ontario, California with the first images of production being released a few days later. It was also reported in October that actress Heather Graham would not be reprising her role as Jade from the first film. Later in the same month it was reported that Mel Gibson would have a cameo appearance in the film as a Bangkok tattoo artist. Four days later Warner Bros. Pictures, Legendary Pictures and director Todd Phillips confirmed that Gibson would not be appearing in the film. Phillips stated: “I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”
