OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Education (Teaching English as a Second Language) with Honours programme offered by the Faculty of Language and Communication (FBK), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) is designed to produce professional educators who are highly skilled in teaching and learning English at various levels of education.

 

This programme combines linguistic theory, language pedagogy, and innovative teaching practices to form teachers who are knowledgeable, creative, and able to meet the needs of global education. Students will learn important components such as language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), applied linguistics, teaching methods, language assessment, and the use of digital technology in the classroom.

 

 

In addition to theoretical training, students are also exposed to practicum experiences and teaching practice to strengthen pedagogical competence, communication skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic and multicultural classroom. Project-based learning, collaboration, and research approaches are also applied to build confidence and professionalism as competent English language teachers.
