OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of Education (Malay Language) with Honours programme offered at the Faculty of Language and Communication (FBK), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) is designed to produce professional educators who are knowledgeable, skilled and ethical in the field of Malay language education. This programme emphasises a balance between linguistic theory, literature, language pedagogy, and 21st century teaching and learning practices.
Students will be exposed to various innovative teaching approaches, the use of technology in the classroom, and higher order thinking skills (HOTS) that are in line with the aspirations of the National Philosophy of Education and the requirements of the Malaysian Standard School Curriculum. In addition, this programme also focuses on fostering self-esteem, effective communication skills, and high values of teaching professionalism.

Through structured teaching practice and field activities, students have the opportunity to apply educational theories to real situations in schools. Graduates of this programme have the potential to serve as Malay language teachers in primary and secondary schools, language officers, researchers, writers, editors, or pursue postgraduate studies in the fields of education, linguistics, or literature.
